1 to 1 photography tuition

Practicing photography is a solitary experience and these custom-tailored workshops are aimed towards people who think that can benefit from having a personal tutor to facilitate their needs. They are also aimed towards people who have very limited photographic experience and want to put sturdy bases from the beginning, from learning the camera, and how to compose to seeing photographically and expressing themselves with a camera.

Locations

I live and work in the North-Western part of Greece in the Zagori region of Epirus. It is one of the most beautiful places in Greece and its diverse landscape with mountains, gorges, forests, rivers, and lakes make it an ideal playground to learn or master landscape photography.  It combines both easily accessible spots by car and adventure in the wilderness. It basically comes down to you and your preferences.  The way I practice photography can be applied to any location so if you are interested in a different place in Greece and want my photographic guidance, I am more than happy to work out a schedule with you that will accommodate your needs. Moreover, if you are a group and want to have photographic guidance in a trip you are planning abroad it can also be arranged.  I have led workshops in Iceland, Norway (Lofoten islands), Italy (Tuscany and the Dolomites) so I am very familiar with those places, but I also like the challenge of the land unknown.

What to bring

When it comes to photographic equipment a focal range from 24mm to 200mm is more than adequate for most landscape scenarios. A tripod is always useful and any filters that you want to use feel to pack them as well. Clothing is dependent on the location and the season of the workshop. We will be staying at guest houses unless we are on a backpacking trip and tents will be used. I can cover the basic camping equipment for a trip in the backcountry if you don’t already own a tent, sleeping bag or a sleeping mat.

What to expect.

Since this is a private workshop what we cover is down to you. The way I approach any workshop is letting the participants understand that to produce meaningful images they must be able to be fully immersed in the surrounding they are in. No matter where that is. If they lack technical knowledge, we will cover this as well and in our down time we can do some post processing work in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
