Why I Started Making Videos
The photography world has a problem, and it's been bothering me for years.
Open YouTube and you'll find thousands of videos about the latest camera gear, lens comparisons, and recycled technical tutorials. Everyone's talking about f-stops and ISO settings, but almost no one is addressing what actually matters: finding your unique voice as a photographer.
We're drowning in trivial advice about equipment while the most crucial aspect of photography—developing your personal vision—gets barely a whisper. It's backwards. Gear doesn't make great photographs; perspective does. Yet the conversation remains stubbornly surface-level.
I started creating content because I was tired of seeing talented photographers get lost in the noise of generic advice. There's a massive gap between knowing how to operate a camera and understanding how to use it to express something meaningful. Technical knowledge is just the baseline—the real work begins when you start asking yourself what you actually want to say with your images.
This isn't about being pretentious or dismissing technical skills. It's about recognizing that photography is ultimately a form of communication, and communication requires having something to communicate. Your personal voice—that unique way you see and interpret the world—is what transforms a technically competent image into something that matters.
The photography community deserves better conversations. We need discussions about creative vision, artistic development, and the often uncomfortable process of discovering what you actually want to express through your work. These are the topics that can truly elevate someone's photography, yet they're barely represented in the mainstream dialogue.
That's why I'm here. To fill that gap and start the conversations that should have been happening all along.
