“Zagori," a Slavic name meaning "the place behind the mountains," beckons. This winter, journey with me into a hidden realm, a sanctuary far removed from the commotion of tourism. A UNESCO cultural Landscape. Picture yourself amidst jagged peaks, their snow-laden summits piercing the crisp, winter sky. Imagine ancient stone bridges, their arches gracefully spanning rivers that surge with the season's icy melt. This is Zagori, a secret Greece, revealed only to the intrepid.

We'll base our expedition in Tsepelovo, a village nestled in the heart of this majestic region, and from there, explore the diverse landscapes of East, West, and Central Zagori. Winter here is a tapestry of snow-draped beauty, a time when the mountains are ours alone, a quiet haven. While the high passes may be closed, the trails and riverbanks remain open, offering unique perspectives rarely seen in warmer months. Should we be blessed with fresh snowfall, the landscape transforms into a scene of extraordinary, almost ethereal beauty.
